Thailand Violates Ceasefire, Destroys Khmer Homes, and Threatens Cambodia
Dear President of the United States and White House Officials Donald J. Trump
I am writing to raise an urgent concern about Thailand’s recent violations of the ceasefire agreement involving Cambodia. These actions directly endanger Khmer civilians and show a troubling disregard for peace in the Southeast Asian region.
Thai authorities have reportedly destroyed the homes of Khmer people and used barbed wire and tires to block access to areas where local communities live and depend on for survival. These aggressive measures violate the spirit and terms of the ceasefire, threatening regional peace and stability.
Thailand threats to attack Cambodia again, escalating tensions and putting countless innocent lives at risk. These actions not only disrespect Cambodia and its people but also the broader Asian community.
Furthermore, Thailand’s behavior demonstrates a lack of respect for the efforts of President Donald J. Trump, who supported ceasefire efforts and called for peace in the region. Violating these agreements undermines international diplomacy and cooperation.
I urge the United States government to take immediate diplomatic steps to address this situation and hold Thailand accountable for its actions. Protecting peace and human rights in Southeast Asia must remain a priority for the global community.
Thank you for your time and attention to this serious matter.
Warmest Regards,
Leak
