Strategy 1
The king released the four prisoners and, led by eight generals and various craftsmen, prepared to build a large fortress in the province of Kapil, located on the banks of the Ganges River, one league away from the border with the kingdom. At every junction, the king divided his troops into groups to be protected, each group being one yojana from the kingdom of Mithila to the Ganges River, and prepared a force to prepare a luxurious pavilion in the northern part of the kingdom to hold the consecration ceremony. The Chola king agreed to this idea without objection. From the pavilion to the Chola king's palace, the king sent a guard to prevent anyone from coming in and out and bringing any news to the Chola king.
Strategy 2
Preah Mahosath asked permission from King Cholni to search the temple of Queen Salak Devi, the mother of King Cholni, and to search the residence of the Brahmin priest. King Cholni agreed to this in order to appease King Mahosath's mind so that he would not suspect his sin. He thought that when King Viteharaja arrived, he would order the army to behead them both at once, without delay. The search by Mother Salak Devi and the Brahmin priest made them afraid and brought a lot of gold and silver to beg for mercy from King Mahosath. King Mahosath accepted the treasures and kept them in the pavilion as the treasures of the kingdom of Mithila. King Mahosath told King Cholni that the preparations for the consecration of King Viteharaja in the northern part of the kingdom would take four months.
Strategy 3
The king sent Ananda the son of a carpenter to build 300 boats and set them on the banks of the Ganges River, along with armed soldiers to guard each boat.
Strategy 4
The king ordered a skilled carpenter to dig an underground tunnel, equipped with mechanical locks, illuminated by lanterns, and well-appointed living quarters. This tunnel connected the border of the northern kingdom to the territory of the kingdom of Mithila, keeping the secret from even the Chola kings.
The time for the consecration ceremony had arrived, and the king sent a message to King Vitehara to come to Borei Upkara near the Ganges River, with the four priests accompanying him. When the king learned of this event, the Chola king ordered his army to surround and capture King Vitehara outside Borei Upkara (the secret tunnel), but did not find King Vitehara's procession. Knowing the trick of the Chola king's army to escape from the kingdom, King Mahosa ordered his army to leave Umang and capture the four royal family members of the Chola king: 1. Princess Nanda Devi, the chief queen of the Chola king, 2. Princess Nandachanthi, his daughter, 3. Princess Chanthi, his son, 4. Queen Salakdevi, the mother of the Chola king, brought Umang and kept it in a cave inside the city wall. The whispering voice of Princess Nanda Devi reached the ears of the Chola king who was outside the city wall. They were so surprised that they could not even imagine.
Speaking of King Vitehara and the four scholars who knew nothing, their mouths were dry and their mouths were dry when they heard the roaring of the surrounding army, accompanied by the lights of the twilight, of the vast army of the Chola king, accompanied by the king of 101 kingdoms. The sage took this opportunity to give advice to King Vitehara, not being afraid that he had only just now considered him an important person. He was filled with love and believed in the command of the four scholars. He wanted the enemy's daughter without thinking twice, considering me as a commoner and not being sent away to another place according to the incitement of the four scholars. When the day of the dead arrives, sorrow and grief arise.” The king, feeling like a night full of mist, asked the sage to intervene. The four monks, seeing death in front of them, asked the sage to give them poison to drink to kill themselves. Some said to hang themselves quickly because they did not want to suffer the various tortures from the Chola King. They begged the sage to help them escape from the terrible danger and promised to follow the sage’s advice forever. The sage replied with wisdom: “Any man who has gained the glory and honor of a king and does not fulfill the king’s needs is called a true friend of that king. The four monks were amazed by the ideals, devotion, and calmness of the Brahma Viharaya. The Dharma of the Mahasatha was too much and they were shocked by the courage of the Mahasatha in facing the difficult problem at this time.
In the quiet of the night, the Mahasatha ordered the guards of the Maha Umang Gate to open the key, and the machine led the King Vitehraja, the four monks and their entourage from the temporary pavilion and walked up the Ganges River to enter the spacious hall where the coronation was held, including the four royal families of the king. When they were all gathered, the sage ordered them to get into the 300 boats and sail to one side, then hand them over to the army on the other side to continue on to the kingdom of Mithila. When the King Vitehraja had safely entered the boat, he urged the Mahasatha to hurry and leave with him. The king replied with a great word, meaning, "I, the leader of hundreds of thousands of soldiers, will sacrifice them for their own safety. This is not the custom of a general. I cannot do the same. If I abandon them, they will certainly be killed by the Chola king. You go ahead. I will settle the matter with the Chola king and bring them after you." The king returned from the Ganges, entered the palace of the Panchal kingdom, and waited for the sun to rise in the morning to settle the matter with the Chola king.
Speaking of the Chola king, along with his army of 394,000 men, when Arunodaya shouted to the headquarters of the king and King Vitehara, declaring, "We protect the Chola king."
