Back in Time – 6 Years Ago Today:
19 March 2019: A pleasure to meet Debra Aczel and her daughter Miriam last night at the opening of a new exhibition at the National Museum in Phnom Penh. They were special guests as it was Debra's husband, Amir Aczel who tracked down the first graphic representation of Zero to a tiny temple along the Mekong River, harking back to 604 AD. The stele or inscription stone (numbered K-127) came originally from the temple of Trapeang Prei at Sambor before being moved to Angkor Conservation Depot, where Amir eventually found it, and wrote about the search in his book, Finding Zero (which has been translated into Khmer). A fascinating story, in which I played a small part, and it's wonderful to see the Cambodian authorities give this discovery such prominence in their new collection of pre-Angkorian inscriptions at the museum...Credit By :andy brouwer
