Two examples of muscular Pre-Angkor male deities, one with four arms, from the end of the seventh century, that were highlighted in the 1989 book, Thai and Cambodian Sculpture from the 6th to 14th Centuries, by authors Wolfgang Felten and Martin Lerner.
