1. Khaṇika-samādhi (momentary concentration – Khaṇika-samādhi)

2. Upacāra-samādhi (access concentration – Upacāra-samādhi)

3. Appanā-samādhi (attainment concentration)

Three types of concentration (concentration of the mind, referring to meditation in insight or the character of meditation itself, divided into types according to the three determining characteristics, which are the dhammas for achieving liberation – Samādhi: – concentration)

1. Suññata-samādhi (meditation that contemplates emptiness, reaches insight that achieves liberation by determining the characteristics of non-existence – Suññata-samādhi: concentration on the void)

2. Animitta-samādhi (concentration on the signless)

3. Appaṇihita-samādhi (concentration on the desireless or non-hankering)

Additional note: It should be noted that in the Tripitaka, the method of meditation is divided into two types, called “bhavana”, namely, samatha-bhavana (contemplation of the bhavana) and vipassana-bhavana (contemplation of the knowledge As Buddhists, we should study and understand the differences in the methods of practice and the results of these two types of meditation to some extent, so as not to be confused and misunderstand Samatha meditation as Vipassana meditation.
